Hispanic Food For All!
By David H. Urmann
Hispanic food differs from each region, town, and family. Even though a lot of Hispanics enjoy their cuisine, still, the authentic Hispanic food is indefinable. The reason for this is that each region prefers their food prepared in various ways in terms of its sweetness, pungency, spiciness as well as heat.
More so, each Hispanic group has a preference when it comes to preparing their meal. Some Hispanics like their food with rice. Others like to combine their meal with potatoes, beans, quinoa, cassava or wheat.
In addition, there are different food techniques that are utilized by Hispanics in each region, making it more diverse. The reason for this is that the different countries that have surrounded them have influenced each group. An example of this would be that a number of Hispanic cuisines have been influenced by Europeans, American and different regions in Spain.
From this cultural background, you can note that Hispanic food is not just your basic tacos, nachos, tamales, enchiladas, and the like. Hispanic foods have their own mainstream of menu items. From the appetizer, main dish, and desserts and up to the beverage, Hispanic foods have indeed turned out to be very well liked by Americans. Restaurant chefs do play a crucial role in making Hispanic-American foods popular. With this, a lot of restaurants, grocery chains, as well as food manufacturers are hitting the United States.

What is a great hispanic recipe i can do for Spanish?
im suppose to cook the food IN THE CLASSROOM (Mr. “Eyelash”, my deranged Spanish teacher who thinks hes hispanic but he’s really 100% white, decided the kids need to cook in the classroom just in case anyone laces the food with mota)
What is a great recipe thats easy to make, easy to cook, and doesnt take that long (preferably not involving mota rofl)
1. I’m Hispanic, and I’m white. Hispanic is an ethnicity, not a race. I’m a Spaniard (ancestrally), so I am European, which makes me white. Just saying.
2. Salsa is easy enough. Tomatoes, jalapenos, garlic salt, blended until creamy. The hotter the better!
What is a good Hispanic recipe?
I need a easy, cheap and Hispanic recipe for Spanish 2 Class. I also need to know background info about it. a traditional recipe would be great if its easy to make and easy to take to class.
2 quick ones..
Fry flour tortilla in a light tasting oil like canola, sprinkle with regular sugar and cinnamon. Makes a Sopapilla, quick & cheap.(just let dry before you cover to transport or they will get soggy) Was a cheap dessert and good way to use leftover tortillas for poor families.
Take corn tortilla, wrap any meat in it, fry in oil til crisp, makes a taquito. You can also put mashed potatoes in there to make a potato taco or taco de pappa. Good, cheap and easy.
Looking for the name a recipe of this Hispanic food can anyone help?
A long time ago my grandmother made me this Hispanic food i don’t know the name of it but i remember how she cooked it if anyone can help me. It was something she wrapped up. It was like a big noodle type wrap, and to hold it together she tied it with string and than she boiled it. I can remember what it taste like but its hard to describe. If anyone can help me and maybe tell me what it might be it will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Sounds to me like a tamale—only the “noodle” wrapper was actually a corn husk. It is common to tie these bundles with string before they go into the pot.
What is a good hispanic vegan recipe?
I have to make a Hispanic dish for my Spanish food day tomorrow at school and I have no idea what to make. I want to make something that is vegan so I will have something to eat. Please help me!
Bean and Cheese Enchiladas
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup nutritional yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 cups water
1 teaspoon mustard
4 tablespoons vegan margarine
10 corn tortillas
2 cans enchilada sauce
3 cans pinto beans, drained
2 medium onions, chopped
1 can olives, chopped
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
1/2 cup salsa (optional)
Directions:
In medium-large saucepan, combine flour, nutritional yeast, salt and garlic powder. Add water and mix thoroughly. Heat on medium heat until bubbling and thick. Remove from heat and add mustard and margarine. Set aside 1/2 cup of cheese sauce in separate container. Add onion, beans, olives, cilantro and salsa to sauce. Mix it up.
Pour a 1/2 cup of enchilada sauce in the bottom of a 9×13 pan. Place a tortilla in pan and cover in enchilada sauce. Spoon in filling. Roll and push to one end of pan. Continue until all tortillas filled. Pour the rest of the enchilada sauce on top and then spread reserved cheese sauce on as last step. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until brown, 30-45 minutes.
