Chocolate covered strawberries at Godiva Chocolatier?
Does anybody know how much chocolate covered strawberries are at Godiva Chocolatier?

      Hi Aubree,

Yes, Godiva has great chocolate covered strawberries, but if want to spend less and want to buy some that are just as delicious, without paying their overpriced treats, go to See’s they’re awesome.
Or better yet, make your own. You can and wrap them in cute cellophane bags with red ribbon for your “Valentine!”
      Ingredients

      * 6 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
      * 3 ounces white chocolate, chopped
      * 1 pound strawberries with stems (about 20), washed and dried very well

      Directions

Put the semisweet and white chocolates into 2 separate heatproof medium bowls. Fill 2 medium saucepans with a couple inches of water and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Turn off the heat; set the bowls of chocolate over the water to melt. Stir until smooth. (Alternatively, melt the chocolates in a microwave at half power, for 1 minute, stir and then heat for another minute or until melted.)

Once the chocolates are melted and smooth, remove from the heat. Line a sheet pan with parchment or waxed paper. Holding the strawberry by the stem, dip the fruit into the dark chocolate, lift and twist slightly, letting any excess chocolate fall back into the bowl. Set strawberries on the parchment paper. Repeat with the rest of the strawberries. Dip a fork in the white chocolate and drizzle the white chocolate over the dipped strawberries.

Set the strawberries aside until the chocolate sets, about 30 minutes.

I’ve made them, You wouldn’t be able to tell the difference from either store. This is the recipe I used from the foodnetwork dessert chefs.

GoodLuck in your choice, :) )

how long do chocolate covered strawberries last?
my boyfriend and i are going away for a weekend (skiing and whatnot) and the saturday we are up there i am making a really nice dinner for the 2 of us and for dessert i was going to get some Godiva chocolate covered strawberries and some champagne…. we are driving up friday night around 6 but we arent having the strawberries until saturday night… ill be keeping them in a cooler and they will go right in the fridge when we get to the cabin… will they still be ok? i HATE when choc covered strawberries get all mushy and that funky juice starts to ooze out of them and the chocolate “sweats” (ewwwwww) so i would like to prevent that at all costs

p.s i would be going to get them friday afternoon when i get out of class and they make them fresh in front of u so i know they wont be leftover yuckies haha

will they still be good by saturday or are they a “eat as u get them” kinda food?

It is a eat when you get them food.
      You could make your own.
Get the strawberries or what ever fruit you want.
Get some chocolate and chop into fairly fine bits.
Melt the chocolate, save a little out, about 1/4 of the total amount. Once the chocolate has melted add in the reserved chocolate and stir until that has melted. This is an easy way to temper the chocolate, not accurate because you are not taking temperatures but it will do.
Dip your fruit in the chocolate and set it on waxed paper or a piece of plastic. Refrigerate until set.
Even if they don’t turn out perfect I am sure you will have fun.
